The picturesque Tanote Bay is located on he south-east side of Koh Tao and has easy access to all dive sites. It is 4.5 km away from Ban Mae Haad, via an adventurous and steep road. The name “Tanote” is derived from the word “Tanot”, which is a type of palm tree, only seen in this bay.

There are five resorts that have little bungalows, placed under palm trees. The beach is 200 m long, scrambled with beautiful boulders. These create a home for many colourful fishes between the different and healthy corals. Our experienced divers also enjoy to dive straight from the shore and to explore the reef on their own.

This bay offers you a quiet and relaxed atmosphere. Accommodation is limited and you won’t find any night life. Keep in mind that you can only pay in cash, so make sure that you visit the ATMs or banks in Mae Haad before you settle in at Tanote Bay.

The Family Tanote Bay Resort, just next to our dive center, was the first resort in the place and operates now for nearly 20 years.

The bungalows of this clean and nice resort are built on the rocks, overlooking the bay between flowers and bushes. Each bungalow has a terrace with a hammock for your convenience! Please bear in mind that it is not custom in Thailand that the rooms are cleaned on a daily basis. If you would like to have your sheets and towels changed, then you need to inform the resort staff. Meanwhile you can enjoy the private beach of the resort where the sunlounges and hammocks are for free.

Special wishes and requests will always be handled by the staff with traditional Thai friendliness.
