Calypso Diving Koh Tao, is under German management and is located on the east side of Koh Tao, in the picturesque and calm Tanote Bay. It has a private reef on the premises, literally a jump away and is very close to the different dive sites. The owners Damir and Dennis offer individual diving activities with small groups, a professional training in accordance with CMAS and SSI Standards.
You want find any “mass” diving at Calypso; we prefer a personal approach for our students and experienced divers. Students would not sit in front of a computer or TV, but will have a traditional class, during in-water practices or theory lessons by your choice of language – German, English or French.

The brothers Dennis and Damir, both passionate divers since they were teenagers, discovered soon that diving and the underwater world would be more than just a hobby. The idea of their own dive centre was born at this time. Damir followed his personal dream of becoming a commercial diver, and Dennis started his career as a diving instructor to finally fulfill their dream of an own dive center with Calypso Diving.
Today
We have managed to keep Calypso-Diving in its original individual presence and to distance themselves from “dive-factories”.
We start the dive trips at 08.30 a.m. (one hour later, than the other dive centres) directly to the east side, and when we arrive, most of the boats have already left. We have share the underwater world only with the fish. Regardless of the number of customers, groups for diving and training are always held in small numbers. A solid briefing before the dive and individual dive planning are essential, which is also adapted to the experience and interest of our customers.
We have happily seen that our concept - outside the mass tourism – has lead to the growth of the Calypso-Diving family with every year and without touching the pleasant flair and philosophy of our establishment.
Individual Care
Calypso-Diving proved that an easygoing atmosphere and professionalism do not exclude each other. On the contrary, individual care enhances the fun and safety of our divers, both at the same time. We find it very important to include our customers while planning the dives and choice of dive sites. Our customer’s wishes are close to our hearts!
By the way: 80% of our divers are repeat customers or come through their recommendation!
